Guide: Using Tidio (Website Live Chat)

1) Submit a Request

  • If you have not already submitted a request, go to: https://studentaffairs.colostate.edu/resource/request-tidio/
  • Fill out the form and submit
    • The “Email Address to be Associated with Tidio (Chat) Account” is what you will use when signing into the chat service. We recommend this be a general office email address so that it is easier to share among staff who might need to access the chat dashboard.

2) Plugin Activation & Setup

  • DSA Web will install and setup of the plugin on your site
  • DSA Web will then create a Tidio account for you to use
  • You will receive an email with your Tidio account credentials

3) Accessing & Using Tidio

  • Note that, while your website visitors will be chatting directly from your website (using a widget in the corner on your webpages), you will be responding from within the Tidio dashboard
  • Once you’ve been given your account credentials, you can sign into the Tidio, you can login by going to: https://www.tidio.com/panel/login
  • Most of your use of Tidio will exist solely within the “Conversations” tab (the chat bubble icon listed in the left-hand menu)
    • Whenever a visitor of your website uses the chat tool, you will see a new conversation appear and can start chatting just like you would with any other chat system
